Local Service Opportunities

Students Service Together

In the spirit of St. Thomas of Villanova, who dedicated his life to service, The Center for the Common Good provides weekly volunteer opportunities for members of the Villanova community.

RUIBAL

kids are in the classroom

The RUIBAL Challenge is a first-year-only service program that offers volunteers the opportunity to serve K-8 students in Philadelphia schools and community centers on a weekly basis. In addition to weekly service, volunteers grow in tight-knit community with the other members of their service group, take part in events that talk about social injustices present at the schools we serve, and advocate for positive change.

Community Outreach of Villanova (COV)

Students Serving At a Soup Kitchen

Community Outreach of Villanova (COV) is a weekly volunteer service program open to all Villanova students which partners with community-based organizations in the Philadelphia area working around a variety of issues to create lasting social change. Through COV, participants are able to deepen their commitment to service, learn about the social justice issues which necessitate service in the first place, and reflect on who they feel called be to in light of this experience.
