Villanova is in the process of moving our Course And Teacher Survey (CATS) system online effective spring 2017 semester. We anticipate that 80-85% of all CATS forms will be administered on line. Survey questions on the electronic form remain the same as the paper form, but the data collection process has changed. All courses with enrollments greater than or equal to 4 will be included in the online CATS process.
As with the current paper and pencil system, faculty are asked to please allow 10 minutes at the start of a class session during the final two weeks of classes for students to complete the CATS online. Students will also have the ability to complete the CATS online during their own time beginning two weeks prior to the end of classes.
Students will receive separate links for each instructor who is teaching a team taught course. Therefore, each instructor is evaluated individually.
When the electronic forms are open to students each instructor will receive an email providing a link for them to monitor the response rate for their course/s. Please encourage participation. Please note that students will only be able to complete the online form one time.
We sincerely appreciate your support and participation in this very important process. Should you have any questions, please contact the Office of Planning and Institutional Research by email (CATS@villanova.edu).
Thank you for all that you continue to do to advance the educational mission of Villanova University. We welcome your feedback.
